A Journey of Unwavering Spirit

In August 1979, at the age of 28, Eiko Tanaka left her homeland by sea, carrying her young son.  Her journey was not merely an escape from danger, but a resolute pursuit of freedom and a future she believed in.

Through unwavering endurance and quiet strength, Tokyo gradually became her second home.

With tireless dedication and clear purpose, she went on to establish two Vietnamese restaurants in Japan:  Huong Viet and Old Saigon. Her story of courage and perseverance was later featured by NHK.

Today, the depth of flavor and the gentle warmth of hospitality at Old Saigon endure as the lasting legacy she has passed on.
